Mosquera and Pérez honoured for Under-15s World Cup success

The pair were part of the Spain side that won the competition

The inaugural FIFA U15 World Cup was won by a Spain side including two players from the VCF Academy: Yulian Mosquera and Ricar Pérez were part of the select 14-player squad that won the international tournament.

Upon their return to Valencia, they will show off their medals to the Valencia CF fans this Saturday at Mestalla, before the match against Real Madrid.

“We are very proud of you. Congratulations. Enjoy this moment, and keep on working,” said Braulio Vázquez, Valencia CF’s Sporting Director. Together with Luis Martínez, Director of the VCF Academy, he congratulated Yulian and Ricar on behalf of Valencia CF and extended a formal invitation for them to attend a game at Mestalla.

“For us, stepping out at Mestalla is just incredible,” said Yulian Mosquera, reflecting on the Under-15s World Cup.

“This has been such a special experience. We formed a great group and really gelled well together. We knew exactly what we wanted to achieve, and everything went just as we’d hoped."

Yulian was on the pitch for almost every minute, while Ricar racked up a series of goals in the innovative 8-a-side tournament.

“We’ve managed to adapt very well, and the goals have come thanks to our teamwork and our strong sense of unity. The match against Wales was tricky, and went all the way to penalties, but we handled the rest very well and won those games by comfortable margins,” Ricar explained.

“As soon as the referee blew the final whistle, we all started jumping around and celebrating; it was an unforgettable experience. I’m incredibly happy to have shared this with Yuli, as we’ve been through quite a lot together. Now it’s time to get back to work and help the team. This World Cup, and the chance to step out onto the pitch at Mestalla, will be a wonderful memory,” he added.
